If it is a light load, that could be the problem. I had one that would not cycle light birdshot loads. If it is a heavier load, make sure the chamber is clean of plastic build-up, check the gas rings for pits and wear, and check the o-ring seal. Also, clean the gas port holes in the barrel. Hope this helps.

Buy a Benelli... Ah, I'm just ribbin' ya [;)]. bama55 has great advice on this one. Clean it all up very well and oil parts as needed, if it still does it then I'd put a new o-ring in it and you should be set.
Welcome to the forum by the way.

Also,..very improtant with 1100 rems,...keep the magazine tube inside the stock VERY CLEAN and VERY DRY. Do Not put oil on it,..clean it with a harsh cleaner,..and wipe it dry. Any lubricant here will gum up the works (been there done that).

I have a 1100 Mag. model and it does have problems handeling the lighter loaded 2 3/4" shells. But it was designed to deal with the 3" Mag.s, so it stands to reason the lighter loads would/could be a problem. I myself have purchased an additional Std. 2 3/4" barrel for my 1100. It's a bolt-up item, and handles all of the lighter loaded rounds. I just switch barrels when I need to shoot magnum shells. Good Luck! ...Mark

The model 1100, " 3" Magnum" barrel was not designed to cycle on a "NON-MAGNUM" 2-3/4" shell. The 3" barrel has one gas port, designed to pass the correct volume and pressure of gas... from a magnum load... to cycle the action. A 2-3/4" barrel has been provided with 2 gas ports to pass an additional amount of lower pressure gas to cycle the action... An additional barrel for bird loads is the easiest and safest remedy for your problem....Good luck...
