You might want to check out www.classthreesupply.com

They import firearms and may be able to get you the info you need with more specifics than I can provide. All I know is that it involves a lot of paperwork with the ATF, a fee that is non-refundable even if your gun is not approved for importation, and a lot of waiting.

If the gun is legal for you to own you can have it shipped to an FFL holder in your state and you buy it through him.

If its a class 3 gun, you gotta do what muertomonkey says.

You also gotta check out the federal laws regarding importation of certain types of semi-autos, but your FFL should be up on that.

thanks for the info. And the gun is a Turkish Walther clone in .32 auto ( 7.65 mm ), 7+1 capacity, made in 1951.

My advice in importing any firearm. Just keep as quiet as possible. If you do it legally, your gonna have to jump thru flaming loops, and still have to wait about a year before you get it.

It is time consuming and expensive. Unless you are importing a Holland&Holland or a Purdy, or some other high dollar firearm it is probably not worth it.

My heros have always killed cowboys.

When I was stationed in Germany I applied to bring back a model 1922 in .32. The barrell was OK for length but the "Angels" at ATF said that the caliber was not considered one of "sporting" purposes, turned me down flat. They have NO appeal proces by the way. ARGH!!! I really liked that little pistol.
