i was wondering if anyone could tell me the quality and accuracy of a charles daly handgun(1911). I appriciate it.

I just purchased a used older model Charles Daly O/U 12 guage trap gun made in Miroku, Japan. My question is about the chokes, I believe they used the same markings as the older Brownings.. The top barrel is marked + which I think is full choke, the bottom barrel is marked ++- which I think is Imp Mod.. Can anyone can give me a definite answer to this???? thanks.... 0 -
I have no persomal experince with them, but have been warned by many to stay away from cheap semi-auto shotguns. And if your going for a good semi-auto shotgun your looking to spend around $800 and up. Yes, they are pricey, so if your not fixed on a semi look at a 870 or a nova. 0 -
There was another thread on this question a month or so ago that you can find with a search. Here is a summary (that also relects my experience): CD is low-end crap, you will get what you pay for. If you can't swing the bucks for a better semi-auto, Kaos makes sense with his suggestion of an 870 or Nova....both function well. 0 -

I took it trap shooting and thought it worked fine. But when shooting trap you only shoot one shot, no need to load the magazine. Took it out Pheasant hunting loaded the chamber loaded the tube, took a shot at a pheasant & wham worst possible jam ever! Both shells popped out of the magazine tube completely locking the gun up. Had to use a screwdriver to pry it apart. Gun quickly became a single shot for the rest of the hunt. Sent it back to the factory, got it back & sold it. Stick with what you know.
I'm actually looking into the EAA IZ43 line of over under & side by sides shotguns. Some good friends have them & tell me they work great.

i have been shooting skeet with a (borrowed) charles daly and it worked surpriseingly well. i was thinking about buying one. there not as good quality as the remington 1100 or 1187 but they have a liftime warrenty and there quite inexpensive. 0 -
Sold many of the Charles Daly Shotguns. Had one sent back mailed on a monday and got it back by friday. Lifetime Gun and patterns bettern most. [;)]

A friend has one and it's his gun to carry when he doesn't feel like scrathing up his Browning Gold Clays. Seems to function OK. I talked to a local dealer who sold a bunch of them a couple years ago. He had one come back for a broken plastic part, I think in the gas system. That probably is the only weak link. Daly replaced immediately. That one gun got a pretty tough work out as it went goose hunting just about every day available to the guy and he shot nothing but hot factory loads. 0 -
I have never shot one or heard good or bad things about them. If you decide not to buy that one check out the Verona semi auto. Its about the same price. I have sold several of these at my part time job and never had any complaints. I have never persoanly used one but it looks like a pretty decent semi auto for under 300.

i'll throw in my 2 cents as well. "no" for the cd semi-auto. semi's are more finiky and require quality craftmanship to function in the long term. dig-in to the coin jar and roll some quarters for the added expense of a rem. 1100,1187. u can find decent used quality semi's if u look.[:p] 0 -
Maybe I got lucky, my CD has about 800 rounds through it with no problems at all. Paid $300.00 new. 0
