help with kimber
Shot my Kimber stainless custom II yesterday. Cleaned and reassembled it today, and can't get the slide release to work properly. Assembly is correct, but it still won't release the slide. Any ideas? Thanks for your advise.

I am assuming there's no empty mag in the gun. 99% of the time I've had issues with assembling a 1911, reassembling it makes them go away. Try that--I know it's a pain but it usually works.

Sounds like slide stop isn't FULLY up against side of frame, or there's a burr someplace, or perhaps even an out of spec part. Have you ever done a taken down and reassemble on this pc before? On ANY 1911 before? What is it that the gun isnt "doing right? Using same magazine for all testing? 0 -
A little oil/dry-lube in the notch in the slide where the slide stop engages helps smooth things out. If the pistol is rather new it may just need some use to break it in. Follow Mballai's tip and re-assemble it, you might have something out of place. Also, did you field strip it or completely disassemble it?

mballai,s advice is very good. Sounds like you don't have the slide stop shaft engaged in the hole in the barrel link..........Hondo 0 -
that can't be the case, or else either you couldn't fully retract the slide, or the slide would fall off of the frame. 0
