Marlin 336 Convesion
I have a 1977 Marlin 336 in 35 remington. Is it easy to convert to another caliber supportted by the Marlin receiver? I was wsonsidering a 44 mag. Or if better to sel, what is the value of 100% blue, one stock ding, two minor scratches on the receiver.

This topic gets brought up quite often.
You will not only have to change barrels for another cartridge, but also the magazine tube if a radical change is made, such as going from .35 Rem to .44 Mag. (rim diameter difference). In addition, the cartridge pickup and carrier would have to be changed.
You would be better off selling the old rifle and buying another in the cartridge you desire, money wise. If you really want to do the conversion, Marlin Arms will accomodate the necessary gunsmithing for you.
