410 reloading powder
I just started reloading 410's(3") with a Mec 600. The only powder I have is H110. THe problem is, the powder comes out on top of the charge bar, I think, because the powder is so fine. Is there a powder better suite for the Mec 600. I'm not familiar with the newer powders, like Lil Gun. Would they do better?

Here is an old powder that I have used in my Mec for years: Hercules 2400 made by Alliant. Meters OK for me. Load data available from the site, alliantpowder.com, also good powder for .357 Mag......Hondo 0 -
I second hondo on the 2400!! There is a new powder from alliant called "410" but I don't know if it would meter through your Mec charge bar.
Stick with 2400 which is what the mec comes set up for. Also, for cases I can't say enough about the AA from Winchester.0 -
I would also use the 2400 by alliant. Seems to work great through the MEC. 0 -
in regardes to your powder leek do you have your flat brass washer
in place? as to type of powder 2400 is ex. i tried (little gun)and
very happy with it dosen!t take as much space in the hull.0 -
I second old hickory. There's a thin, flat brass washer that goes on top of the charge bar. Many times (me included) we get so excited to try out the new toy we forget to put ALL the parts in. I also have
similiar problem with Winchester 296. That is a ball powder and very fine at that and even with the washer you still get a little to get past.0 -
Thanks Guys 2400 it will be
I am using an adjustable charge bar, but don't remember seeing a brass washer. I will check it out.
You were right on. No brass washer
Thanks again

make sure you put the washer in the loader after the bar and bushing is in. curves facing up, then the rubber o ring, then the keg. 0
