1873 french 11 mm
Hi anyone tried to reload the french 1873 11 mm, cartridge?
the book says its bore size is .426, so I got some 44 slugs in .429, and before I started to load, I I slugged the bore with a .44 bullet. to my surprise, the bullet fell right true the bore. Then I toke .45 bullet sized to .452, and I could slug it, and guess what the bore is .452, just like the old 455 webleys. I slugged those too, and I wonder if the 1873's had been bored up during the first and the secund world wars, so they could use the .45 ammo? Any thoughts? Pajtas.

I doubt they were slugged up. More likely yours is just a bit loose. Go with whatever bullet fits the bore best.

Be sure to check the diameter of the cylinder also; this could be tighter and cause you some problems. 0
