Terminator 2 Lever Action
Hi, does anyone know what type and model of 12 gauge Arnold carried in T2? It's a lever action with a cut down stock to make it into a pistol grip. I really want to get one, but I don't know exactly what it is....any help would be appreciated.

As I recall a Winchester 1887 or 1901. they were both the same gun. The 1887 chambered for the 12ga and 10ga. The 1901 chambered for the 10ga only. Of course the earlier model was in the black powder era and the later in the smokeless era. The 1901 was chambered for the 2 7/8" shells which are hard to come by these days. 0 -
If I remember correctly, Arnold was using a Winchester lever action shotgun.
The Winchester Model 1887 was offered in 10 and 12 guage and some have damascus barrels (not safe to shoot!). The Model 1887 was last made in 1898.
The Winchester Model 1901 was also a lever action, but only came in 10 guage (it must have a hell of a recoil). 1920 was the last year of manufacture for this model.
Both of these shotguns are a slooooooow operating shotgun, that's why they are no longer made - customer disatisfaction.
The cut down stock is probably a Hollywood job. To my knowledge and reference resources they didn't come like that from Winchester.
Personally, they are better off hanging on the wall and I certainly wouldn't attempt to shoot a model in 10 guage with modern ammunition!

I think Navy Arms or TriStar made a 12ga reproduction of this shotgun back in the mid to late 90's. Didn't sell very well.

That shotgun was made out of aluminum so he could swing it around like that. 0 -
The movie-company told in a documentary, about the gun, that they had to use 3 different guns - to make that scene.
Two were made to make the reloading sequence and the last one was to fire.
They said it was nearly impossible to make it with one gun - considering the lever action reload-movement to cycle the gun.
But yes, it looks nice, but I think I've seen reproductions as well.
In 12 gauge 3" even.
I'll check up on it in the catalogues I have...

Hi,
I was invited out to my parents farm for a little visit at which time they passed on my grandpa's Wichester 1901 10 guage,and a few other guns. Sentimental reasons alone I will never sell the gun but was wondering what value the gun may have? I would say its in fair condition, a few nicks and scratches but otherwise in good shape. Apon my fathers insistance, I did fire one (Peters) shell off. It does have a good kick and one hell of a report.Thanks for any replies!0 -

then the/us cowboy action shooters 'discovered' em.
Now they bring upwards of 800.00+.Same thing happened with the Winchester model '97 pump shotguns.Supply and demand.
Be sure to NOT shoot 2 3//4" shells in it.chamber pressures could soar.

sorry for getting back late on this. It's deer season and that must come first.
I'm rather suprised (pleasantly) at the estimate on the 10 Guage. It will be nice to hand down to my kids when the time comes!!
Would you guys suggest running a round thru it now and then, or just putting it in the safe and bringing it out only for showing off? .Its easy to show it off as most people havn't seen anything like it.
