Twist rate on a 670 winchester in 243?

Does anyone know of or have a resource which lists the twist rate in a winchester model 670 factory barrel in 243win?

  Thank you Delta. Might I inquire as to where/what resource you have? I have been unable to find this info for some time. There is tons of info for the model 70's,..but the 670 has slipped into obscurity.

  justc,the Blue Books says a Mod 670 is just a economy version of the model 70.The twist should be the same.

  JUSTC: Life Long experience my Friend. But there are reloading manuels with twist rates in the back pages.
  
  The .243 developed from the .308, and was Winchesters answer to the Remington .244; Which came out with a 1-12 twist, many thought the lighter Bullets for the .224 was not sufficent to kill Whitetail. The .243 Winchester took off like a Bat, the Remington .244 lanquished. Remington countered with the 6mm Remington, but was too late. All three Rifles and Calibers are very Accurate. The 6mm Remington probably has the edge. The only Difference between the .244 and the 6mm Remington is twist rate.
  
  So! If you encounter a Remington .244 consider it the forerunner of the 6.mm Remington, capable of extreme Velocity and Accuracy (but with lighter bullets). Also: With the advent of Slower Burning Powders; the .244 can shoot the heavier bullets very well.
  
  The .308 being a std 1 -10 twist, (some European Models have 1-9)
  
  And most older Winchesters have 1-12. The early Sniper Rifles of Vietnam were Winchesters. Longer Distance was achieved with Heavier Projectiles and the 700 Remington 1-10 twist.
  
  Lesson Learned: Most Wild Cats which become Standard (after proving themselves), retain the same twist as the Original Caliber? Don't ask me why? The .270 1-10 , 25-06 1-10 , and why? Because The 30-06 was 1-10. Remember this and it shouldn't be too hard to keep up with. And European Rifles (esp. the older ones) tend toward the elongated Projectiles and heavier. The 6.5 Swede would be a prime exaample, this rifle has Great Potential with the 1-10 twist - But someone Named BRIGGS figured that out and used the 6.5 x 51, or called the 6.5-08, which is now the .260 Remington, and won 8 Nationials

  Thanks Delta514. I am considering a wildcat project in the future for this action,..as it looks very strong and capable of being trued very easily.
  
  For now,...in the interest of the bank account,..I will just have fun with the 243 barrel[:p] This should provide a capable varmint and deer rifle with some handloading TLC.
