    There is some value to all old military items, especially if having to do with weapons. In this case it depends upon who wants what you have. For a mantle piece, about a quarter a round would take it. Break it up for kids, fifty cents apiece. If some Ma Duce shooter wanted the links and brass, anywhere from a quarter to almost a buck would fly. I sure it is more valuable just to keep as is.

    As a bit of history associated with your grandfather, I would respectfully suggest it has more value in your home. The headstamps are as common as dirt, the fired slugs have no value and the links are not that hard to acquire. You might get $50 - $65 for the works, tops. But as a link to a proud moment in our history and an heirloom from someone who cared about you . . . like the ad says, "priceless."
