ruger P94 .40

I just bought a ruger P94 and wanted to know if when shipped from the factory are they sighted in or do I have to do so ? Also what is the effective range of a .40 hand gun? any help would be great thanks .

  They are test fired at the factory. Depending on what ammo you shoot and the different grains will factor on how it shoots i.e. (hi or low) . The manual may suggest a certain type of ammo to use. There should be an adjustable rear sight if you need to make a change. Range is determined by how well you shoot it. Id take a conservative figure of 20-30 yards accurately.

  my buddies p-89 was sighted in dead on when he got it.i imagine that your 94 would be the same
