(2) S&W md-29 Values
I have two S&W model 29s that I would like to know how to value them..The first is a 8 3/8" blue 44mag, serial# N-397XXX..It has a wood presentation case, all the paperwork that came with it including the S&W wax paper..It was Mag-N-Ported in 1978 and only fired 6 times afterwards..Blue is perfect.. The second is a 6" nickel md-29 44 mag, serial# N-711XX in the wood presentation case, cleaning rod, but with no paperwork.. There is a dime size amount of haze in nickel, but you really have to look to see it..This was only fired about 50rds.Any help would be appreciated..Thanks

ALS,,,,, Your 8" 29 was made in 1977, and the 6" in 1980.
Like Saxon said, they are both 29-2's. The prices he mentioned are about right. If you were selling these back in the late 70's, when the Dirty Harry movies hit the screen, you could get big bucks.
If the 8" gun has "perfect blue" as you said, you might be able to get 550 to 600 bucks from a collector.0 -
Thank you very much for the responses..I wanted 425.00 for the nickel and 525.00 for the blue, so I feel better now that I know I am in the ballpark...Thanks, Andy 0
