Deals on 410 #9 shot 2&1/2 inch shotgun shells
Does anyone know where to get a deal on these shells? In my neck of the woods Winchester AA go for about 7.99/box and a little less for Remington STS. I would like a reloadable shell. I thought I got a deal on some Estates but they don't reload well. Any help will be appreciated.

So far, the best we have found for reloading are the winchester AA.
The Federals blew the ends off on first shot quite often and the Remingtons were OK but still didn't outdo the AA's. You'll have to play with powder types a little. Some is a little bulky and doesn't allow a nice crimp. Winchester 296 is an old favorite, but is a fine ball powder (likes to creep out of the measure). I've heard L'il Gun works quite well. It seems you get a little better deal on season end case prices, but I've rarely seen much better than the price you quoted. Occasionally, Fiochi has a better price, the loaded shell shoots fast, ect. but I don't have much experience reloading yet.
If you consider how many boxes of 12 and 20 gauge the manufacturers make as compared to .410 and we all can attest to .410 just being more difficult to work with bcause of size of the opening, ect.
You can maybe see why they cost more. Same as the reason .22 rimfire costs so much less than .22 WMR.0 -
Appreciate the info allechalley. I agree, when it comes to reloading Winchester AA is best and Remington is the next best choice. 0
