I have a Colt 1911 I called Colt and serial Number Dated manufacture to be in 1939.
Condition is 70%+

It's kinda' tough to give an estimate with such lmited info.
Since a 1911 is not a 1911, much more information is needed. Assuming the gun a Colt, IS it blued or parkerized? Do the serils # match? Is it completely original? All these things bear greatly on value. Since it is stamped U.S. Gov. Property, it is a pre-war production pistol, built on Military contract.
Kill all the lawyers and the world will be much better for it.0 -
Python makes a good point. It's kind of like my saying "I have a 3 bedroom rancher; how much is it worth?" There are just too many factors to be considered.
The only other place where a Colt M1911A1 might have a second serial # is on the slide under the firing pin stop plate. You also need to remove the barrel & describe it's color, as well as every marking on it, & condition of the bore.
Photos would be a big help to us. At this point I'm guessing that you have a rebuilt gun that would sell in the $400-600 range. If it really is all original, it might sell for over $1,000.

Colt only made 3635 Military M1911A1s in 1939 on a Navy contract. From #713646 to 717281
If, indeed, yours is one of these pistols, and all original (with a blue finish), it's worth about 50% more than the average military Colt.
If you'd care to give us it's serial number (just X out the last two digits) we can verify the date of manufacture.0 -
I appreciate the Info it sold to a collector on GB for over 1200 it was all original and 1939 in very good condition. Never refinished so I lucked into a great collectors piece
