    Anyone know anything about this rifle, quality etc. H&R Model 12 .22 US Govt. Thanks, I'm thinking about buying it but am clueless on this one.

    They were manufactured in serial # range 4,600,000-5,700,000 during the Korean War. HRA made their own barrels, and these are dated 1953-1956. They made most of their own parts, and many of them are marked "HRA" in addition to the drawing number.

    do you know where i could find a front handgurd and a complete bolt at?

    Do a web search on Mel Bishop, Dean's Gun Restorations, or Orion 7, all reliable M1 parts dealers. Be sure to tell them the serial # of your gun so that you give the correctly marked bolt.
