Marlin model 28 question

A dealer friend of mine has a Marlin model 28 12 gauge with what looks like a brass receiver, even the side of the bolt appears to be brass , is this possible and if so about what would the value be, wood is in good to very good condition , blueing on the barrel is down 50% or so
