what is your objection to a basic 1911?

if the enemy is in range...so are you.

I have an SW99 and a Kimber. They both have their plus sides, but the Kimber has many more of them. Nothing against the P90..it just doesn't feel right in my hands.

The P90 is a reliable hunk of iron, and cheaper if thats what suites your needs.

I think you get alot for your money with a Ruger P-90. I have a KP-90D that I have shot over 2500 rounds though it with out a single hitch. All types of ammo including range reloads. It breaks down easily for cleaning and it is as at least as accurate as the other, more expensive, 1911 type pistols that I own. It's not really a firearm that is comfortable to carry concealed, but many large frame pistols present similar problems. Thr trigger pull is long in DA situations and the stiff trigger seems to improve with use. Overall, I have had less trouble with the P-90 than any of my other .45 pistols so it is the one that is in the night stand drawer. I'd suggest going with the Ruger P-90!

I was in the same dillema about a year and 1/2 ago, although it was the P90 v. the Walther p99 .40cal. I went with the Ruger because it was a reliable American made weapon, the price was right and the Walther or SW didn't coem in a 45 acp yet. The ruger will shoot tons of ammo and is very simple to maintain. But the SW99 is awfully attractive and shoots very well also. My advice is to save a couple of hundred more and go with the SW99, the Rugers will alwys be available, reliable and cheap.

Having never used the SW99, I can't comment on that particular pistol, but, I have fired several thousand rounds of different ammo thru my P90 with absolutely NO problems, I would HIGHLY recommend this pistol. Inexpensive, accurate, easy to maintain and above all, DEPENDABLE!! Ruger is currently offering a $40. Factory rebate which makes it an even better deal!! Extra mgs. are readily available and with RUGER'S lifetime warranty you CAN'T GO WRONG!![:D]

The P-90 is built like a tank and a very good gun,I would take the Ruger over the model 99 any day and use the extra money to buy ammo!!

    Best!!

I would also go for the P-90. Mine is an absolute blast to shoot. I haven't put that many rounds through it YET (800+-), but it has never failed at all.

Taxation WITH representation isn't so hot either!

Ruger P-90 hands down, "the brick" that works all the time.

Pack slow, fall stable, pull high, hit dead center.<BR>
