Winchester 30-30 Value & Age?

Hello, I have a Winchester 30-30 that I was curious as to what its approximate age might be. I bought the rifle in the early 70s used and was told that it was bought new in the mid 60s. The serial number is 249XXXX. Might anyone have a reference book that would have any info on this rifle?

  a few years ago you could get 400 -500 out of a pre 64 30-30 but it seems like the price has came down some what, now days more like 300-350 in my area anyways

  According to my Winchester book, your gun was made late 1961. Special features such as a "Saddle Ring", fancy wood, checkered wood, etc will all add value. Mint like new condition for just a "plain" 94, 30-30, about $400 maybe some may pay more, some less. Well used, alot less. It's hard to put any value on it since you didn't give much info other than the serial number. Regards Dave

  Thanks one and all, this pretty much comfirms what I thought the age was. Value is of course what ever you can get someone to give and not really what I was looking to find out. Thanks again.
