9MM FEDERAL RIMMED REVOLVER AMMUNITION???

i was sorting (actually i knocked over a stack of ammo filled milk crates, and had to clean them up) through a pile of oddlot junk in AMMO STORAGE CLOSET #2 at the shop when this stuff caught my eye. its 9MM FEDERAL RIMMED REVOLVER 115 gr jacketed hollowpoints with nickel plated cases. its a full box of 50 rounds. the box is clearly marked "FOR REVOLVERS ONLY" on 3 sides.

i do not know alot about this cartridge. i remember SMITH & WESSON making some military and police contract revolvers for JAPAN in this chambering, but i do not know the history or development.

how long did this last??? is it worth anything??? what guns chambered it??? is it still produced??? any history, or info would be enlightening. best regards, mike.

  if someone can tell me what a "FAIR" price is, you can have the whole box. i suspect ICONOCLAST would like to have a sample. someone throw out a price (not an at auction, or skyhigh) and its a done deal. i often come across stuff at the shop that i cannot readily identify. you guys have been a great resource, and a great help. best regards, mike.

  ehhh give it to him for 5.00! who else would even want it! normal reloads for 9mm go for 8 to 9.00 at the range. be nice to him and give it to him for shipping! besides, i can use some of that myself. i own a ruger speed six in 9mm 3" snub myself! whats your address?! nec9554@juno.com. call me!
