  Just thining..... dangerous, I can smell smoke! [;)]
  
  Bullet lube is used on cast bullets to reduce lead fouling. What's good for the goose isn't good for the gander, or? Why aren't jacketed bullets lubed for the same reason? I mean, it would necessitate a lube groove, but surely similar machinery to that which produces a crimp groove could handle it; or, has this ever been done? Reading Hatcher's notebook, it seems it once WAS common practice for this very reason, for shooters to dip their bullet tips in grease to cut down on fouling (dangerous with some types of ammo though)- and if so, why don't we still do it?

  Boy that's a tall one.......what you going to lube, smokeless or black powder?........what is the velocity of the bullet?.........are you going to soft lube or hard lube?........It's a lot easier to buy a brick of lube from Thompson than chasing up components for some lubes........but there are various recipe out here.........john.........

  Grady......very basic starting recipe.....50% beeswax and 50% olive oil....heated together in a double boiler (tin can in a pot of boiling water will do just fine). This will cover the majority of things you may shoot, blackpowder or smokeless. If you want it a little harder, more beeswax, softer, more olive oil. When liquid, you can pour it into the Lubrisizer and let it harden in the tube.
  
  Choice of Extra Virgin olive oil or not is up to your taste buds.

  Lee Liquid Alox. Great for all smokeless pistol and rifle, ok for blackpowder. Enough said.

  Grady, I'm not familiar with the model numbers. Are you looking for the hollow tube type lube? NRA did a study many years back and concluded that a 50-50 mix of beeswax and Alox was the optimum for the cast bullets run through a lubrisizing die. I know I've never had leading problems with my loads using that formulation and reasonable velocities (some of them quite hot, actually).
