.375 Express Cartridges

I would like information on .375 Express cartridges.This is a chambering in an old commercial Mauser rifle.I would like to know if anyone is selling this ammo , either origonal or custom loaded. I would also like information about forming cases and loading. All information is greatly appreciated. DPdonnigan@aol.com

  The only 375 Express I have heard of is a wildcat cartridge made off the 444 Marlin case. No factory ammo available if this is the case. Does it say anything else beside 375 Express.

  This is a quote from the 7th edition of "Cartridges Of The World".
  "375 Belted Rimless Magnum Nitro Express is the British designation for the 375 H & H Magnum as loaded and used in the United States".
  Believe the Mauser Rifle your inquiring about was originally sold in England or was manufactured for sale in England.

  I think rufe snow nailed it - a chamber cast would be a good idea, but in the commercial Mauser, the .375 H&H is almost certainly the chambering. After confirming this, you can find new ammo readily - Federal, Remington, Winchester, Hornady and others currently produce it. The .375 is one of the enduring benchmark cartridges and likely to be produced until the day Big Brother comes to take them all away.
  
  In deference to aglore's expertise, I would reiterate that a chamber cast is almost certainly a necessity. There are a bunch of rimmed .375 caliber rounds of various sizes and shapes. In fact, now that I think about it, this could possibly be chambered for the .375/400 belted which was the anemic predecessor to the H&H, also. That round was specifically made for the Mauser early in the last century and the original ammo came on special five round Mauser strippers.

  Many 303 British, 30-40 Krag and 45-70 Mausers running around this world. And I know they are rimmed cartridges in bolt guns.
