Who makes the better bolt rifle? Savage or Ruger and which model do you feel is the best in .243 caliber? Using it for coyote.[?]

  44.5gr Vihtavouri N560 according to nosler's no. 5 manual.
  
  why chase the game when the bullet can get em from here?....

  I used speer nitrex through a .243 one year, shot a spike and a doe and they took them both right down, without moving. There a little expensive but they are great bullets.

  Ive been loading the 243 for years for myself and customers in our shop. IMR 4064 is the powder of choice, occasionally you see a rifle that prefers something else but this is the one we try first. Try the Sierra 85 gr BTHP and 4064 you wil like it. This bullet is extremely accurate and deadly because you get a lot more velocity in a good handload than any factory load. I have a lot of customers that wont use anything else. You wont believe the killing power until you see it.

  try the hodgdon varget 44 grains with the serria 85 grain

  hunter,ask 10 different people and you'll probably get at least 8 different answers,here's my favorite,40 grains of 4350 with a 95 or 100 grain bullet,Bob.

  4064 performs very well behind a 70-85 gr. bullet, but for 100 grainers it is hard to beat H4350 or IMR 4350.

  hunter223: most of the reloading manuals that the bullet manufacturers put out now adays show an accuracy load and a hunting load, for "their" particular weight bullet. They also list loads for different powders that are also good at grouping for that bullet. But they will list one, that is the best one for that rifle or machine rest they are using.
  
  Note..... not all bullets of the same weight, group the same. They differ from co. to co.,their shape; boattail, flat base, etc. So use the listed powder for bullet from that manufacturer and go from there.
  
  From what I have loaded for "starters" the manual loads are pretty good, but you can improve on them. No two rifle shoot the same.
