1976 Colt .22 Commemorative Scout
Trying to find the value of a preproduction sample (only 8 made) of this Colt Commemorative Scout "The Right To Keep and Bear Arms". Includes a verification letter from Mr. M.S. Huber, Colt Industries historian. 7-1/2" nickel barrel, Black stock w/eagle.

If this gun is one of only eight pre-production samples, its value will be hard to assess. You make no mention of its condition.
Has to be worth more than most of the regular production commemoratives, but how much? To the right collector, perhaps quite a bit.

Any of the "Right to Bear Arms" Revolvers I have seen had 4 5/8" barrels. Nickel and 7 1/2" is indeed, a "different" gun. Obviosly, that must be why the "Colt Letter" says its one of eight made.
This being the case, you are only limited by what a "deep Pocketed Collector" will pay for it.......but you might have to look a little to find someone wanting your gun. Also, keep in mind, if the gun has been used........at all, you will be looking at a sizable deduction in the value. New in the Box, all paperwork as shipped, no distractions, well, there's no telling........only guessing at this point. It would be very hard to find a "comparable" so you can only speculate at this point. If planning to sell it, give it a value, set your Reserve where you are going to be comfortable selling it and see what happens. It might go for even more than that on Auction here on Gunbroker.
If it was just one of the regular guns which I mentioned above, Duckhunter has it right.....$450.00 would be what would be expected. Good Luck! Hope this helps!

THE 2ND AND. "KEEP AND BEAR ARMS" I HAVE IN MY COLLECTION IS A 7&1/2 INCH BARREL. ONLY BARREL LENGTH I HAVE SEEN . THE SERIAL NUMBER IS 3XXX. NOT EVER SEEN A 4&1/2 INCH BARREL.
