Liberator Pistol
I am interested in finding out the true value of a 90-95% (no box/no original instructions) condition "Liberator" (fp-45) pistol. I did see an auction on this site about two months ago where one went for $1,400. The collector that I am dealing with now is offering $850. I would like to know which number is closer to reality. I also understand that to appraise a gun without seeing it is very difficult but I am only looking for an estimation. The Liberator sold on this auction site was not in as good of shape as the one I have.

The problem with determining value sight unseen aside; remember, Accessories, accessories! Without a box, knock off (my estimation)$250; without original instructions or ammo, another $250; which would bring it verry close to what you are being offered.
The neatest thing about collecting odd/unusual guns is that you need all the stuff that came with it originally to fetch a premium price.
Maybe some collector has a box & instructions and needs the pistol, or maybe a newer collector can only afford the gun without all the ephemera that came with it.
I have found GB's sale prices to be higher than what I would pay for most stuff; but every now & then a bargain sticks its' head up and disappears quickly for a decent price.
A recent example would be that AMT Longslide going for $600 in a post on this forum-I wouldn't pay that, but someone did!

What "box" did the Liberator come in? Did it have its own parachute as well? [}:)]

Welcome-I suspect that this is a one time post but-
Value as you know is what an individual will pay.
AAs the liberator was made by Guide Light division of GM and originally came w/ box, cartoon instructions, ammo and a wood dowel
to knock out the .45 spent casings-You may call the price. There is a book that described the Liberator completely. Not a best seller.
Unable to assign a price-have sold several in the $850.00 range, but
I believe the prices would be higher w/ condition and all. Does it have the floor plate? Many are missing. Perhaps a liberator collector
may wish to guess a price. Some time back, Gary James
did a test on this one time take a captured gun with it and toss the liberator.pistol. It was my gun that was tested. 1010 -
