What's this S&W 38 Special worth?

I've got a 38 S&W Special CTG, serial #569578 at about 80% blue with wooden checkered grip. Handed down from my grandfather I estimate its age at approximately 60-70 years at the low end. While it's a nice revolver, I was thinking of selling it. Any demand and what would be a reasonable price I could expect online? I cannot find any selling price history of these revolvers in past closed or current auctions. Incidentally, what do the letters "CTG" stand for?

  Need a model as there are many models old S&W .38 Spl
  Can you post a pic?
  Look on the barrel for more info.

  Thanks for the responses. My pistol looks identical to the photo posted by SaxonPig with the exceptions that it does not have the strap stud on the bottom of the handle nor does it have what appears to be a gold emblem toward the top of the wooden grip. I tried to attach a photo to this reply but did not know how. Also, other than the 38 "S&W Special CTG" printed on the barrel, there is no model indicated. And yes, this is a S&W, it has its seal engraved beneath the cylinder release as well as "Smith & Wesson" engraved on the left side of the barrel. Thanks again.
