Doesn't anyone have any info on these engravers?? How about Paul Jenkins of Pa., anyone heard of him?? 0 -
I have done quite a bit of engraving but don't recognize any of the names you list. Not surprising because engravers, like others in their own line of biz, probably focus on the client rather than the competition. For a while I got mail and a newsletter from some kind of Engravers Guild. If you could find it, they would have a list of members that might include the names on your list. It was a long time ago and I don't have any contact with them now. You might try a website search. If that fails maybe try a forum request for info about the Guild, etc. Hope this helps. 0 -
You might want to check out Harrison Carroll's website - www.harrisoncarrol.com - as he occasionally sells engraved guns & currently lists a Colt engraved by Denise Thirion.
I was a little concerned that you felt it necessary to state the appraised value of the guns you are looking at. I hope that you don't base the price you are going to pay on an appraisal; appraisals are usually optimistic. Engraved guns are very difficult to sell, & many owners just hang on to them because they can't get out of them what they paid.

Thank you Neal for the info and your concern on the appraisal values. Feedback from guys in the know, such as you, are invaluable.
RHMC24, found the web site, www.fega.com--the guild is researching the engravers names I gave them. I'll check out the website you gave me.0 -
arnold griebel (excuse any mis-spelling) was a well known engraver whoose work appeared from time to time in GUN DIGEST 0 -
Denise Thirion is one of select group of contract engravers for the Colt Custom Gun Shop. She is now considered to be a Master Engraver. I have a friend that has some of her work.
