$1000 for Rock River

Is $1,000 for a Rock River 1911 a good price and how does it compare to Kimber, SA or Colt Gold Cup? Thanks for input. Bruce

  1000.00 is a good price if it is for 3 rock rivers. You can't compare kimber to rockriver.

  Depends on condition and which model of Rock River 1911.
  
  Rock River was founded by some guys who used to work for Les Baer, and they make very fine firarms, indeed. They would compare very favorably with a GC, SA, or Kimber....and perhaps be more comparable to a Wilson or Baer.

  WOW! Big difference in price...... $350.00 - $2,300.00... Are we talking the same gun?? [?] I have seen them at Gun Shows, $800.00 to $1500.00, NEW

  1911 = The best handgun ever produced (all things considered). There are numerous 1911-A1's but fewer 1911's. Rock Island, Colt, Remington Rand (Typewriter Division), Ithaca, & Union Switch & Signal, and Singer, are the General ones Manufactured for WWII. The Rarest being the Singer, next would be the Union Switch and Signal. A "SLICK" Remington Rand will bring about $800 - $1000 (but check the Grips from the inside) and it would not hurt to see if the Frame Number matches the Slide - Cock the hammer and look at the firing pin holder. If checking grips - Wood Checkered for WWI and Plastic Brown for WWII. Standard Grips should have a circle K, or Star with a K in the middle.
  
  But if you want an Excellent 1911A1 style that shoots like a House Afire, Try the Para-Ordinance Stainless Limited P-14, Drop about $700.oo and never look back, (Maybe them Canooks can't own a Hand Gun, but they sure as heck make a fine piece) and if it is Double Action you want, The LDA is unbelieveable. Trigger will make near all double actions obsolete. (yeah! Right, I doubted it too) No! I was actually Prejudiced against the Canadian Thing. The Para-Ord, Limited has proven me wrong, and the along comes their LDA, (I must keep reminding myself: "The Canooks an't all Bad").9and most of em speak American? Go Figure?[;)]

  The Rock ISLAND M1911 is an inexpensive gun made in the Phillipines and imported thru Sarco: http://www.rockisland45.com/rockisland-standard.html
  
  The Rock RIVER M1911 is of much higher quality (and price) and is manufactured here in the U.S. in Colona, IL.: http://www.rockriverarms.com/standard_match.htm

  Yes I realize after reading these other posts that i was thinking about the Rock Island 1911, sorry for any confusion I may have made[:I]
  
  Delta514 I have a Para in the L14 LDA in 40 S&W , which i just love , trigger is fantastic, the reason I went with the 40 is because I was replacing a Glock model 22, so i already had alot of 40 ammo to use up , when i can get the money together I 'm going to get either the CCW or the TAC4
