Just Checked out one of the threads bashing HI POINT. I can say with some accuracy that most have not even shot one. The carbine rocks...period! After 1000+ rounds never a jam and very accurate and I will pit it against a STORM as soon as I can find some poor soul willing to schuck out the big bucks for one. I also have the compact 9mm and wow for a 100 bucks it rocks also.
Do not get me wrong I do own several SW's a few Dan Wesson's and Rugers and you do get what you pay for. But to call a HI POINT junk when it carries the best warranty on the planet no questions asked...what are you thinking?0 -
Hi Don, see that little blue line of words above the member login area? There's a feature up there called "search"; can you see it? Good, now click on that bad boy, enter the words "Hi Point" and read all those threads from the last year about those guns.
Personally, I like 'em because they're robust, inexpensive plinkers. But don't waste time reading my response here; there are so many more in the "search" area.
If you know it all; you must have been listening.WEAR EAR PROTECTION!0 -
I can only speak of the 9mm carbine, but I assume [:I] the handguns are of the same type quality. It's definately not the high end, as you mentioned, but I haven't had any problems other than the cheap (expected) factory laser. I've shot everything from 55 grain to 147 grain, including +P and shot loads, with no troubles. Also, if it helps, mine is newer (2001). GL!

I saw a Hi Point at our club today and and took a c lose look at it. It was a 40SW and I thought it was heavy . I asked the owner what he thought of it, and he said that he didn't like the weight. It is not a balanced pistol.
Personally I perfer something more streamlined. I like my Browning Clone High Power.

Click on the search at the top of this page. When the search page loads, type in Hi-point for the key word and hit the enter key. You should get every thread that has the word Hi-point in it.
