7.62x38 nagant
I'am looking for some 7.62x38 Russian nagant revolver ammo . Does anybody know if S&W 32 longs are safe to shoot in this gun.Thanks for any addvice,Ed

Ed, I have shot many 32 longs thru mine. I also have the 32 ACP cylinder and shoot those without problems. I bought the extra cylinder thru one of the gun rags and it works great.
A previous poster said he used 32-20 ammo and cut the lead off if it was too long. I haven't tried that yet but will as soon as I get the ammo.
There is also JONK who posts here and he uses 32-20 brass to reload for this gun. I guess you have already found out that the Fiocci ammo for this gun ain't cheap! Regards, Tom

Tis true, tis me! I have also fired .32 SW w/ no troube. For reloads I use starline 32-20, .312" bullet (.32 acp) about 75-100gr, and 3.8gr bullseye or less. Some cases still seem to hang up, and need a quick run on a grinding wheel to take a touch off the base to let the cylinder revolve freely, but on mine about 90% cylced fine as they were.

Keep checking the auction, someone was selling the Fiocchi gas-seal new production ammo for $31/box--I don't see it listed right now.
I've got the .32 auto cylinder with mine (came with the gun); it's cheaper to shoot, but I like shooting the proper gas-seal ammo--it's "neaterer."

I tried the 32-20 cases in my 2 Nagants and the rims have been too thick. I found that I could use 32 H&R magnum cases and run them thru a 32-20 die. They work well when loaded with .308" 110 gr fmj bullets made for M1 carbine. I also use 312" jacketed bullets. I have also used 71 gr fmj bullets made for 32 acp and loaded them in 32 S&W Long cases. 0 -
