I do beleive that the two qualities you're looking for are mutually exclusive.High velocity is acheived by using highest powder charge that is safe and/or light weight bullets. Thus ,high velocity ammo will have a bit more muzzle blast but more importantly ,you will get a great deal of sonic crack off the bullet.to avoid sonic crack you must go to subsonic velocities.

I think Remington makes a subsonic round that has decent velocity.

Aguila makes the "quiet" ammo that just uses the primer to fire and claims the bullet travels at 900fps.

Ted Kennedy's car has killed more people than my gun has!

I believe Eley makes one that just about cracks to sound barrier which depends on air temp, humidity, barrel legnth, etc. I've had a crack out of my bolt gun that ends at about 50 feet, and shot many rounds thru the marlin and ruger semi's that stay subsonic right from the muzzle. The accuracy from a factory rifle is phenominal, ragged holes at 70 feet off a good rest are quite possbile. I have the remingtons, cheaper but not as acurate.

I made the mistake of buying a brick of the Remington subsonic. It will not work in most semi-auto firearms, not enough blast from the gun powder. It will not work in my Ruger 10/22. The new shell will not chamber due to the low powder blast. On the other end CCI stinger has a velocity of 1600 fps and is the best .22 ammo out there as far as I am concerned. You can't go wrong with it.
