Stainless 10/22 from Walmart

Does anyone have experience with the stainless 10/22 that Walmart sells...and is supposed to have exclusive rights to sell? How accurate do they shoot and how is the trigger pull?

I have an old blue 10/22 with peep sights that shoots like a dream but I need to set up a 10/22 with a scope. I was thinking about the stainless model and was wondering if it will be as good as my old blue gun.

Also, what scope would be a good choice (hopefully for under $200).

The use of the rifle will be for turtles in the ponds and skunks that come close to the house.

  I had one for a little while this winter , sold it to a older gentleman that thought he needed it more than I did ,, which was alright with me ,,, fit and finish was fine , trigger was maybe a little better than other 10/22's but would still need worked on to come close to what your older 10/22 is , barrel lenght is 22 inches and it is only sold by wal-mart but other than the longer barrel its just like any other 10/22
  Whether it will be any better than your older gun who knows , the only way to find out is to buy one and shoot it.. Scopes just about any Tasco or Simons in a 3x9 should work great for what you are planning on using it for ,,,, good luck and have fun [:D][:D]

  I would suggest a Bushnell scope in that price range, and that you leave those turtles alone! I like turtles. Take a look at www.bearbasin.com www.natchezss.com and maybe www.eagleoptics.com for decent prices. You might also check the auctions here, you may be able to find a used Burris or leupold in that range.
  
  The 10/22's usually go for $219 at Wally World and that is a pretty decent price for those stainless/synthetic rifles.

  My wife got me a stainless/laminate 10/22 from Wal-mart for Christmas in 1991 (the only gun she ever bought me). It was a great gun and I have shot many hundreds of thousands rounds through it (yes, hundreds of thousands - remember when 50 round mags were $20?).
  I took off the laminated stock and bought a Butler Creek synthetic for it. The trigger needed cleaned up so I took it to a 'smith and for $20 he had it nice and sweet. The gun now will only shoot around 3" groups at 100 yards, but it used to be well within half of that. I used it a couple months back on a prairie dog hunt with PRZNCOP.
