The Capt. runs a tight ship, although he will SOMETIMES let a topic run a post or two over the limit if it appears that there is still some real information or data being exchanged. Most subjects can be wrapped up in 10 posts or less and soon these become "I agree with what that guy said" or "me too" or the origianl subject gets side tracked and forgotten. This is where the Capt. locks the topic.

He will also lock a topic if he feels the subject matter does not fit the experts forum or if he feels that certian individuals step out of line and begin fighting- he is VERY tough on the matter of civility among those of us who post on the experts side and he will lock out, edit, or delete anything he feels does not pass muster. If you really have a need for additional information on a subject you can always bring the topic back in another post (with another question)or you can go over to the general discussion formum where topics can drag on for days and arguing seems to be the the number one draw.

It keeps Ask the Experts fresh and moving....If You need more than 10 replies to a question....it becomes a Discusion and don't belong on Ask the Experts.......Thats what the General Discussion Forum's are for....Other reasons are Language, Topics that don't belong on this Forum... Attempts to Buy, Sell or Trade on the Forums...to name a few other reasons....Hope that answers your question.......Best....
