can a stock for a 700 bdl be used on a 725 rem.

  Sir, I believe you could use a 700 stock on a 725. The one problem area might be the 725 safety. It appears you would need to inlet clearance for it. You might also need to use 700 bottom metal or a 700 ADL stock.

  The M725 and M700 (and M721/722) are basically the same guns, but the M725 has a rather awkward-looking rotary safety that requires a fairly large cutout in the stock. A M700 stock could probably be adapted to work on a M725, but I have not tried it.
  
  M725 rifles are quite collectable, so the presence of an original stock is important to their value.

  Dr. Pig, you are wrong. As stated, the M720 was the last version of the Enfield/M1917/M30 Remington rifles. The M725 was the immediate predecessor of the current M700, and was offered as a deluxe version of the Plain Jane M721/722.
