    Made in 1951, Value depends on condition and originality. Early post war FACTORY ORIGINAL nickel plated .45's, would command a premium.

    Get a factory letter! If the gun is original as stated, it has substantial value. Factory ivory stocks alone would be worth more than most guns. As r-s says, factory nickel guns of this vintage also command a premium, a quite substantial premium. If it is not original, it is just another altered Colt that helps increase the value of the original guns. It is most likely the latter, but the chance it is an original gun is intriguing.
