Ithaca Double
Hello I have a 12 gauge sxs made by the Ithaca gun company. Serial No. is 377,xxx. I would like to know when it was made and what model is it - Thanks

Have an Ithaca double. It has a T 12 stamped on receiver opposite of serial number.It is in great shape and i have no idea of the value. It may have been reblued.It also has full beavertail forarm. could anyone give an idea of what the modle is. it is made for smokeless powder.I think it is a Flues model, ser #39xxxx. thanks. 0 -
Yours is a pre-1925 gun. While it could have a damascus barrel set, I sort of doubt it. There are a couple of good indications of such... Barrels will be browned instead of blued and the patterning and twist should be quite evident. If wear is excessive, then look under the forearm.
Assuming steel tubes, then know that the chambers are almost certainly too short for today's shells. Further, you'll find that the receiver is rather weak and easily damaged by heavy loads.
These were pretty little guns, but not great one's. Still, they're neat and collectible.
