Repair to air rifle
I have an old Benjamin Franklin air rifle, Model 312 that need repair. It doesn't seem to hold air when you pump it. The bladder my be bad. Where can I send it to be repaired?
Does Benjamin Franklin Air Rifle Company still make this gun? I could not find them listed on the internet. If they do, where could I find another if this one can't be fixed?
What would the value be of this gun if it were working?
Thanks for any information that you can give me.

I have seen repair kits for the Benjis on ebay for around $30. I see the rifles on auctions, some in like new condition. Local gun shop here says they pay $75 for good ones and price them at $100. A local fixit shop says he puts a few drops of automatic transmission oil in them to fix air leakage. Says it has something in it, for automotive purposes, that causes the seals to swell and prevent leakage. He did that to mine after taking it apart to check for no damage and it held air overnight enough to shoot over half inch deep in wood. 0 -

I've got the same problem with my
model 347.If there is a large gun shop
in your area, they may be able to help.
Where are you? If your any where near
Austin,Tex.,I'm told that McBRIDES does
airgun repair.Been meaning to take mine
there, but just haven't gotten around to it.
I know I've found places on the net,but they
were clear across the country and I'd rather
deal with it in person(paranoid[?]).
rhmc is right about the oil,but it didn't
help mine.It did fix my Crossman pistol
though.[:D]Bought it at a pawn shop ($12)
for the NICE leather holster, never expected
the gun to work.[:D][:D][:D]
IT'S WHAT PEOPLE KNOW ABOUT THEMSELVES THAT MAKES THEM AFRAID.0 -
