ruger mark 2 bbl replacement ?
Hi, I have a ruger 22 handgun it has a 4 05 5 inch bull bbl. I like it as a plinker but I would like to know if anyone has ever had their bbl replaced with a longer one? Is Ruger the only one to have do this? I havent had a chance to call them yet.
Thanks - Rob

Ruger will not switch a barrel on a 22 automatic, nor will they sell You a barrel. They consider it part of the receiver.Your best bet would contact Clark Custom guns and have them do it with one of their barrels. You could buy a barrel from Brownells and have a Gunsmith install it for You.Or buy a used one from The Gun Parts Corp.and have a gunsmith install it.You could buy the proper tools and switch it Yourself, but this is the most costly way, unless You plan on using the tools again.

or you could just buy another ruger with the longer barrel, thats the most cost effective way in the long run. 0 -
Volquartson makes them. Be prepared to spend at least $250 or more. As stated earlier, the barrel is considered part of the reciever and is a serial numbered part.
You can buy a 8 or 10 inch complete gun for around $3000 -
Thank you for the info. I had no idea that it was part of the receiver. I thought it was like the 10-22 and you could get new bbl's for it. Thanks for the info and on the links to the old gun parts.
Thanks -Rob
