Browning "Gold" Baby??
My husband recently inherited a Browning Baby that is Gold plated
and has a serial number that begins with 169XXX with an S underneath the serial number. I would appreciate any information on value or history. [:D]

Because the serialization records for the early Baby Browning's are not available, the best estimate for date of production would be late 1950's. My references don't show that Browning sold a gold plated Baby. Bcause of this it would be best to get a hands-on appraisal. Quality of workmanship re the plating would have a great influence on the value. 0 -
As R-S said the little pistol was made in late 50's.
58 or 9 to be exact and probably 59.
Who did the plating and "Why" is the big questions?
Was it an "award" of some kind and so documented---these are what would make the gun more appealing.
A poor plating job and any plating job for that matter that is not factory-is usually not a "benefit" to value.0
