Headspace Post
Eveyone agreed that when you change barrels on an AR-15, you need to check the headspace, I agree. If the the bolt dosn't close on a GO gage, you can lengthen the chamber? If the bolt closes on a NO-GO gage, there is really nothing you can do, is there? On a rifle with a threaded barrel/action you could tighten a turn, face off, and re-chamber, right? Due to the nature of the AR-15 design, if you had a long chamber, the barrel would be junk? Although I,m mechanicly inclined, I,m not an expert on establishing headspace, this is just the way my narrow mind see's it.

Note that many mil-spec barrels will close on a commercial no-go gauge. Unless your rifle closes on a 'field' gauge I would not sweat it that much.
Insufficient headspace is a far more dangerous condition than slightly excessive headspace, and yes that is correctable with a chambering reamer.
That said, it would almost require that the barrel to be mischambered to allow for that degree of excessive headspace and I would immediately contact the barrel manufacturer. If at all possible, obtain a barrel and bolt as a set, or at least from the same maker.
