Garand Correct Parts Help!!

Gentlemen,
[?]My research is returning some conflicting information regarding the correct "Rear Sight" and "Op-Rod" for my Springfield Garand Serial# 2711857 D28291-32 with B 2 8 Diamond below the drawing number.
Please confirm:

The correct OP-Rod:
D35382 6 SA
or
D35382 9 SA

The correct Rear Sight
Lock Bar Type II
or
Lock Bar Type III

  The correct operating rod "should be" a -9 SA. There was always some over lap on the new revision numbered parts actually being installed on the rifles, but your serial number seems well out of the -6 range. Your rear sight should clearly be the TYPE III as there were no TYPE II sights used after the beginning of 1943, about a year prior to your receivers production date.

  If the rifle were mine, I would keep it "as is". Between the replacement barrel and the rebuild markings on the receiver, it is not restorable; you can replace all the parts you want, but it will always be a "rebuild". It has some interesting & valuable parts, but you can't make it into something that it is not.

  OK,
  I'm not looking to restore it i.e. make it something it's not. I'm not even sure what qualifies as "Restorable". I am new to the Garand world and learning every day. But since it's mostly correct all SA as opposed to the usual sirmixalot with 4 different makers involved I would like it to at least look the part. Based on "nmyers's" conclusion the Op-Rod can stay but I think I will go for the lockbar Rear Sight just for the sake of it looking correct.. Vanity is alive and well..
