    We're going to assume you mean the English gunmaker Frederick Beesley. The serial number is correct for 1898-99. He did not make many guns per year, so that is a rough estimate.

    You dont mention exactly what type of shotgun, but we are going to assume (again) the typical Beesley - sidelock, with ejectors.

    You can expect $3500 plus, probably $4000 with the case and accessories. Special features, best-quality engraving or wood, any provenance, etc., will GREATLY alter that range. In a properly advertised live auction from one of the major firearms auction houses, it may well bring another $1000 above these figures.

    I'd certainly insure it for no less than $5k.
