Can't help with the ID of your rifle but be assured that ammo is still being manufactured for it by Winchester and Remington.

Probably the Model 25. 24" barrel, crescent buttplate.

I agree with CG. The Model 25 was the only pump Remington that I know of made in .25-20.

If it has a 24" barrel and curved buttplate, it's the Model 25.

If it has an 18" barrel and straight buttplate, it's the Model 25R Carbine.

These were made from 1923 until 1935....yours, with that low serial number, was probably made in 1923 or 1924.

rob-ster-us, you didn't ask about the shells but I suspect they are quite old and may have collector value. I suggest you keep them intact until you find out their value. As has been posted above, you can still get ammo for the .25-20.

robster, as Herschel noted, the shells *may* have some premium, depending on the box, headstamp, loading and condition. If they are more recent R-P or W-W production, they are shooting fodder. If you want to send me a pic / scan, I can give you an idea. tcg25@hotmail.com

You may not find the ammo stocked in all stores, but it is not hard to obtain.
