hslaterpryce, I never got to shoot any of the 5mm's but if they had been as awesome as the 17HMR they wouldn't be relegated to the obsolete bin!! If you have a bunch of ammo and a bunch of guns, you could either sell them at terribly inflated prices or shoot up the ammo! I would probably opt to sell a few boxes of ammo and get yourself a 17VS Marlin or the Savage 93/17 heavy barrel or a CZ or a 597 or an Anshutz or any other myriad of guns chambered for the 17!! Notice a big difference here? If the 5mm had been such a hit, then other companies would have jumped on it and chambered rifles for it! The 17 HMR is simply the most amazing rimfire to ever be developed!! It's not made to shoot elephants with but for varmints it is as the box says, "EXTREME"!! Try one! You'll never go back!! The sheer accuracy will astound you! GHD

ohioghog, I've got 2 of em now!!! Thinking about getting one in Savage Striker!!! 10 inch barrel still giving 2200fps!!! Talk about a truck gun!!! By the way, the 243 Ackley is coming around!!! Forming brass and shooting some for the second time using new fireformed cases, have given 4 different groups under .2!!! I beleive it may see some action in the groundhog fields soon! Will save the long stuff for the 25-06 though!![:D][:D][:D]GHD
