Colt Delta Elite
Hey guys. Whats the difference between the Delta Elite and the Delta Elite Gold Cup? Do they both come with a match grade barrell? Is it the springs. I would like all the info I can get on this gun, so any information is extremely helpful. Thanks!!!

I HAVE A COLT DELTA ELITE FIRST EDITION STAINLESS STEEL. THE GRIPS HAVE THE COLT EMBLEM NOT THE RED TRIANGLE SEEN ON OTHERS . IS THIS GUN ANYTHING SPECIAL AND WHAT IS IT S VALUE.ALSO THERE WERE ONLY 1000 MADE AND THIS ONE IS 889 MADE ACCORDING TO THE SERIAL NUMBER SS1000889. THANKS TOM 0 -

Unfortunately, the only Books out there with Serial Numbers for the Colt guns all stop at 1985 or before. That was the Bad News! The Good News is that Colt will be able to tell you when the Gun was made with a simple call to Customer Service. They generally will tell you that but if you want more, they require you pay for a "Historical Letter."
As Far as a Manual, they, (Colt), will Sell you a Color Copy of the manual for most of the later guns like yours for about $10.00. Check with them. You can find their website with phone number at: http://www.Colt.com/ Sorry I couldn't help personally, but I am able to point you in the right direction.
Sometimes you can find Colt Manuals by Searching on FleaBay, but given that the Delta Elite wasn't a very High Volume produced gun, I think chances would be slim but probably the only place for an "Original" manual if there are any around anywhere! Enjoy the Gun....They are Fun!!! Good Luck!

a friend of mine sold his 10mm elite stainless for about 900.00. my colt dates of manufacturer book by r.l wilson does not indicate your weapon[xx(], follow ranchero's advice[:p] 0 -
I just checked thier site, most of it is under construction, so I guess I will give them a call. It is not a big deal, I am guessing 1994/1995 by the SN. I got mine for $735 + tax came to $800. Stainless in GREAT shape, mirror pipe no scratches. It didnt come with papers or box, but thats no big thing, I got it to shoot, not hang on the wall[:D]

Another question guys. This is my first 1911/Govt. model. Any suggestions on "how to" books for them. I would like to upgrade whatever I can. It is pretty nice as is but with all the aftermarket parts out there I would like learn everything I can.

Rick... Leave it factory (or at least save the factory parts). Resale value will be much higher. They are in a chambering that is fairly rare for a 1911 design. I think they'll be worth more in the future. Not to mention, the ol' bambihunter might want to buy it off of ya. [;)] 0 -
I wasnt planning on trickin it out, just a new trigger, beavertail and adj. sites. Anything I change, I will keep all old parts. I scraped to get the $$$ for it. I never once considered selling off other guns. This should give ya and idea about future resale[:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D]. Of course bad things happen to good people, so if I end up in a $$ crunch, I will keep you in mind[:D]. BTW, I changed my Email from AOL. New mail is przncop110@yahoo.com.
