Python Build Date?

Hello All,
I have a Colt Python, the serial number is 80xx. Can someone please give me the date of manufacture?

  Call Colt, they can give you the year of manufacture.

  Went to the local Library to find the book about Colt history.
  Can't remember the authors name. To check on the Birthday of a Python.
  Spent the next 3 hours turning pages and drooling at the pictures.
  Well worth the trip.

  to whom. Too many variables. Suggest: www.colt.com

  On more than one occasion, when I called Colt, they gave me the manufacture date and original finish of the piece in question for free over the phone. Once when I was contemplating the purchase of an old Gold Cup, I checked the s/n with Colt and found out that the gun's finish did not match that of their records (of course that's when the seller stopped answering my emails regarding the originality of the gun). It's worth a try.

  Thanks Country! I also never liked scrappy. He was just a punk! A dim shadow in comparason to his father. Scooby Still Rocks! (-: One other thing...is there some sort of schematic for telling the years or do you just have a reference? I's gots to know! heh
