I have a Hopkins & Allen pistol
Jan 5- Oct 5- '86
1303 stamped on cylinder and 10/703 on butt
I believe it to be 32 cal.
My question; Is ammo still available for this
item and where it can be purchased?
Thanks for any input0 -
centerfiresystems.com Has S&B for $149 per 1000 I think but do not hold me to that price. Check out there site. Also check J&G, Southern Ohio Guns, and Cheaper Than Dirt as well. Find a gun show close to you might be cheapest way out. Good luck and good shooting.[8D] 0 -
There is also Natchezss.com they always have a good deal on S&B. I think $149.00 is about the cheapest you'll get. 0 -
ammuntionstore has olympic 223 for $149 a case and if you buy 2 cases, cost is $139 each. I have not shot this ammo so I cannot comment on if it is good ammo or not.

Hey... What is the twist rate of your ar-15? I have 3 ar's; 2 with 1/7 twist which are most accurate using 69 grain bthp, and #3 has a 1/9 twist which shoots best with 62 grain rounds. AR'S with 1/12 twist are happier with 55 grain BALL.
I have found that 'WIDENERS.COM' has case lots, and less, of some good plinkin' stuff as well as the un-desireable russian steel case junk. GUNBROKER AMMO AUCTION has also supplied me with some SWEET DEALS from [:)]'DAVE' @ devilmut@optonline.net and [:)]'RANDY' @ rbeshootingsupplies.com.
Stay away from any ammo which is COATED WITH GUNK since the ar- chamber gets DAMN HOT and the GUNK will BOOGER UP the chamber... should you let a live round sit in a hot chamber the GUNK SOFTENS and allows the case to possibly HANG A BIT UPON EXTRACTION which will BREAK the extractor [:(!]
I hope this has been helpful.

MOST, BUT NOT ALL 62 grain rounds are SS109 STEEL CORE A.P. with brass case [:p][:p][:p](and not everyone has the proper environment to plink with ARMOR PIERCING STUFF[;)]). AR'S with 1/12 twist are happier with 55 grain BALL( which is the most abundant and lowest price of all A.R.-FOOD).
