I.O.R. Riflescopes?
Does anyone have any first hand experience with these scopess, or second hand will do? The website press looks good, that is what little I can find of it. Any help appreciated.

boomerang, yes I bought an IOR Valdada in 6x42 but it was not a 1" tube so I had to return it. I did have a little hands on with it and gave it a low tech run through. They no longer make one inch tube scopes -or so I am told. Because of this mine was exchanged for a Meopta. IOR and Meopta are both bigger and heavier than most standard brands but they are usually one piece steel. They are both imported by the same distributor in Colorado. On paper it would seem the IOR would be an unbeatable item and for the most part I thought mine was worth the money. I would have liked a side by side comparison with the same fixed power in a Leupold. Until you can compare things first hand you normally have to go by spec sheets and do as you did and ask someone. Before mine was returned I had one dealer tell me he preferred the Meopta's over the IOR and after I have gotten a look through both I have to agree. The meopta in low light is simply amazing. If you want a one inch tube don't hesitate on the Meopta. The IOR had nicer turret adjustments but the Meopta is still finger adjustable which I did not think it would be. I had a 7a reticle on the IOR - which has posts moderately thicker than standard duplex, and vertical hashmarks on the horizontal plane on either side of the crosshair intersection. I liked it except in real low light it was sometimes tough for me to differentiate between the hash mark and thin part of center post. I much prefer the number 4 on the meopta and find it perfect and is what I wanted in the first place. Downside to either is the warranty/repair. I don't know how long it would take to get one fixed or what the customer service would be like. I did hear one frustrated buyer (not trouble with the scope) trying to get information from IOR and saying it took forever and the language factor is a big deal. That is second hand so tke it for what it is worth. My overall cnnsensus : the scopes themselves are solid, heavy, large, clear, bright, a buy for the money and I give the edge to the Meopta. I just got my I.O.R. Super M2 through Cactus tactical. Glass is very nice and turrets seem OK (Not as good as my Leupold Tactical though) I am in process of mounting it. It came without any instructions / warranty info and I am still waiting......... 0 -
