Ruger P89 ammo
I recently bought a Ruger P89, 9mm, slightly used. I have some Russian ammo, Silver Bear, I think. Is this gun okay with surplus ammo? I shot about 5 rounds of the Silver Bear through it and it seemed fine, but I don't know if I should shoot it too often. I know Ruger makes great guns, I don't want to damage, or wear it out prematurely.

No problem, just dirty as hell. Shoot it, clean it, have fun.

I too have a P89, I have found it likes any ammo that fits into its magazine. Surely one of the best 9mm's made. My local walmart sells 100 rds of winchester FMJ in a dump box for only 10.99, cant beat that for a 100 rds.

Thanks guys. I buy the Walmart 100 rd. box too. It's hard to pass up such a great deal. I had the Russian stuff in a milsurp pistol that I have since traded off. The Ruger is a quality gun, the best groups I've ever shot with a 9mm. Thanks.
