Ruger Mini 14 Magazines
I have a 30 round Mini 14 Magazine with the name Mccoy Mobil stamped on the floorplate. Can anyone give me any information on the credibility or history of this company? Is the magazine any good? Also, regarding P.M.I Magazines: Is it true that these magazines are regarded as #2 to the factory Ruger Magazines?

When the Mini-14 came out in the 1970s, the McCoy magazines were the only 30-round magazines available. (As I recall, 20-round magazines were the largest capacity Ruger factory magazines available for the first few years.) They are acceptable, but not up to the quality of factory magazines or P.M.I.. I have had a couple of McCoy magazines that have been loaded for most of the last 25 years and they still work fine. I do not believe they have been made for decades.
Most people consider the P.M.I magazines second to Ruger factory magazines.0 -
