PCR = Politically Correct Rifle ... do you really want this stigma attached to your $500+ investment? [}:)][}:)][}:)]

You can buy a stripped receiver and a complete kit (minus receiver) for most any configuration AR style weapon for approximatly the same money ... and not titled "PCR"!

Dont let the PCR model designation dissuade you. Doesn't make a dime's worth of difference in how it shoots or what it's worth.

Olympic Arms AR's are generally considered on the low-end of acceptable. A definite step above the Hesse and similar crap, but not regarded quite as highly as the Bushmasters or Armalites. I've heard far more happy stories about them than sad stories, and I've never had to repair one. All in all, if you can get a deal you're happy with, go for it.

I have a PCR16 and it is as good as I could expect from a 16" .223. It shoots cheap fmj and white box 45gr. hp very well. I wasn't expecting a 400 yard squirrel rifle but it definitely did the job on 300 yard coyotes and steel plates. I suppose another $250 might make it a little smoother in places but not better functionally.

I've got the PCR 02, 16 inch, I really like it, and I've never had a problem with it. It's a great shooter, and has a lifetime warranty. Your $500 price is a good deal.
